500: maintenance mode

Greetings from the Engine Room!

Sorry, but there's really nothing to see here right now. Our server is in maintenance mode – and our little bot is trying to sort the error messages with its last bit of energy.

Whether it was a data leak, a power outage in the cluster, or just a grumpy bit – we don't know yet. But what we do know is:

The data drama escalated into a server meltdown. But don't worry: We're on it.

What now?

  • Everything is surely running smoothly over at our colleagues from inside digital – why not stop by!
  • Or you could pass the time by visiting our social media channels – for example Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. At least there are no server problems there – promised.

Thanks for your patience. Our bot is already rebooting at full speed. 🔧

Taotronics SoundLiberty 53: a cheaper alternative to AirPods?
The SoundLiberty 53 are the latest true wireless headphones from Taotronics. Here we have a design that echoes that of the popular Apple AirPods and a competitive price. So are they worth buying? I used them for a week. Here’s what I thought.

Samsung Galaxy A80 review: counting the cost of creativity
With the Galaxy A80, Samsung presented a smartphone that serves as a true flagship for its mid-range family. Like its siblings, it has a special feature to offer. This time it’s a rotating pop-up camera paired with a full, bezel-less display: no hole punch, no notch. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks. Here’s what I thought.

Withings BPM Core review: a cardiovascular check-up at home
Connected health is in full swing. After smartwatches landed offering electrocardiogram features, Withings now offers a connected blood pressure monitor. The BPM Core (as they call it) allows you to measure blood pressure, record an electrocardiogram and listen to the sound of your heart. We were able to try it out for about ten days. Here’s what we thought.

One year with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9: the phone that always has your back
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has already been out for a whole year. It’s time for us to draw our final conclusion on the phone in this long-term review – and despite some criticism at the end, it’s a pretty clear winner.

Honor 20 Pro review: so close to greatness, yet so far
Gradually, Honor made its bed. The brand is increasingly emancipating itself from its parent company Huawei. The most recent example is the new Honor 20 Pro, which is not a direct clone of the Huawei P30 Pro but goes its own way. Discover what it’s all about in our complete review.

Kygo A11/800 review: the ultimate headphones to immerse yourself in music
Does the name DJ Kygo mean anything to you? I can’t believe that at least once in recent years you haven’t heard his famous Firestone track. After refreshing your memory (because I know you’ve just done it), it’s time to talk about the A11/800 headphones, currently the flagship product produced by the DJ thanks to a collaboration with his loyal group of Swedish sound engineers.

Xiaomi Mi 9T review: the full package without a hefty price
The Xiaomi Mi 9T has a clear goal: to be among the best mid-range smartphones on the market. Thanks to its competitive price tag, features and specs, it achieves this goal and has won me over. Here’s my full review.

Sony PS-LX310BT review: get into vinyl the easy way
Vinyl is back! At least in the UK. Last year was the 11th consecutive in which vinyl sales grew. More than 4.2 million records were sold in the UK in 2018. Now, hardware manufacturers are reacting to what is clearly no fluke. With the PS-LX310BT, Sony has created a turntable for the modern music fan.

Litter-Robot 3 Connect review: the gadget I’ve been waiting for
After seeing self-cleaning vacuum cleaner robots coming to the market, I certainly didn’t expect cat litter to integrate such technology. But I was wrong. The Litter-Robot 3 Connect is the self-cleaning litter tray that will free you (almost) forever from this chore. But it comes at a price…

Besdio BE-EH002 review: how good are budget true wireless earbuds?
Gone are the days when true wireless was reserved for the top end of the headphones market, at least where price was concerned. Today, the market is flooded with earbuds that cost as little as a pair of bog-standard, wired Apple EarPods. I took a look at the offering from Besdio, to see if they are worth purchasing.
