The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (review) was introduced in July 2025 and became available shortly after. It is the more premium model compared to the standard Galaxy Watch 8 and comes with distinctive features and design.
Although it has a squarish chassis, it stands out with stainless steel in the bezel instead of aluminum used in the cheaper alternative. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic also features a mechanical rotating bezel, similar to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. You can use it for navigation while enjoying a more traditional timepiece style on your wrist.
The smartwatch offers rugged styling with a MIL-STD-810H rating and IP68 dust and water resistance. For scuba diving, however, the Ultra remains the better choice.
It has a round 1.34-inch AMOLED display with up to 3,000 nits of brightness. The panel is protected by sapphire crystal, similar to other premium smartwatches.
Inside is a powerful set of hardware. It is fitted with the Exynos W1000 chip for wearables, which adds more cores than before and delivers higher clock speed. In testing, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic feels snappy and smooth regardless of the task.
For health and fitness tracking, it includes advanced tools enhanced with new AI-based functions such as energy score and sleep coaching. The Bioactive sensor is more accurate in measuring vitals like heart rate and blood oxygen. It also debuted exclusive features such as antioxidant index and cardiovascular load, introduced through Wear OS 6-based firmware.
Battery life reaches 30 hours with the always-on display, which translates to about one to two days in real-world use. Charging is wireless.
