If you are on the fence about buying the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic but were put off by its premium price, you can now consider it again. The latest Samsung smartwatch with a classic design is back to its second best price on Amazon. This translates to $100 off (20%) the usual $500 price, dropping it to $399.

This is just $20 shy of the record low price we saw earlier this year. The deal applies to the Black colorway with a black strap. Keep in mind that the only difference with the White option is the strap, as the chassis remains silver. Moreover, the Classic model already includes cellular functionality, unlike the standard model which is available in separate Wi Fi and 4G variants.

Why Buy the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic

Samsung reintroduced the classic version with the Galaxy Watch 8 series. Beyond just bringing back the rotating bezel, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (review) received notable upgrades in both its design and internal hardware.

On the outside, the new “squircle” shape blends the traditional look with the style of the Ultra model. The Watch 8 Classic stands out further thanks to the extra touch of its jagged bezel. It is built from stainless steel rather than aluminum and comes in a single, larger 46 mm size. Like the Ultra, it features a digital crown in addition to the two side buttons, and it utilizes a new lug system for the bands.

The smartwatch is MIL STD 810H graded and supports light water based activities with its 5 ATM and IP68 dust and water resistance ratings.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic features a 1.34 inch circular AMOLED display. It is significantly brighter than the Watch 7 and previous Watch Classic models, peaking at 3,000 nits. This ensures that the content remains legible even under direct sunlight.

Powering the smartwatch is the Exynos W1000 chipset with a penta core processor. This is a highly capable and efficient piece of silicon. You can expect the Watch 8 Classic to perform snappily and smoothly when launching and running apps. With proper optimization, the smartwatch can last up to 2 days before needing a recharge. You can extend this further by using the power saver mode.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic debuted with new health and fitness metrics. These include the antioxidant index for measuring carotenoid levels through your skin and vascular load for advanced readings of stress on your cardiovascular system during sleep. There is also AI powered bedtime guidance and health coaching.
