500: maintenance mode

Greetings from the Engine Room!

Sorry, but there's really nothing to see here right now. Our server is in maintenance mode – and our little bot is trying to sort the error messages with its last bit of energy.

Whether it was a data leak, a power outage in the cluster, or just a grumpy bit – we don't know yet. But what we do know is:

The data drama escalated into a server meltdown. But don't worry: We're on it.

What now?

  • Everything is surely running smoothly over at our colleagues from inside digital – why not stop by!
  • Or you could pass the time by visiting our social media channels – for example Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. At least there are no server problems there – promised.

Thanks for your patience. Our bot is already rebooting at full speed. 🔧

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 review: my precious Cinderella!
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! After reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 for more than two weeks, I’m overcome with the Cinderella syndrome and wish that the clock would never strike midnight. Here is my complete review of the best folding smartphone on the market for NextPit.

Realme 7 Pro review: a smartphone built for Gen Z
Having previously launched in India, the Reamle 7 series is coming to Europe. The new 7 and 7 Pro are true to the brand’s vision and offer solid specs and affordable prices. I’ve been using the new Realme 7 Pro to see what it’s all about. Is it a worthy upgrade of the Realme 6 Pro? And can it take on the other sub-€350 phones in Europe?

LG Wing review: weird, fun, and surprisingly usable
The first device from LG’s new Explorer Project is here. The LG Wing is like nothing we’ve seen in the smartphone industry so far, and that’s a good thing. For those who hark back to the days when mobiles were crazy and weird, the Wing is almost nostalgic. But is the swivel design practical in everyday use? Here’s our full review.

Realme C11 review: inexpensive but how good is it?
With the entry-level C11 smartphone, can Realme be able to take smartphones that retail for below €100 to a whole new level of performance? After all, the Helios G35 is one of the latest SoCs to be released. The manufacturer designed this processor specifically to cater to affordable gaming smartphones, and that sounds quite promising! Apart from the number of cores that this chipset carries, the smartphone also exudes personality with an iconic bar and in my opinion, a far too obvious manufacturer logo right at the back – accompanied by a generous battery size that offers a whopping 5,000 mAh. In this review, we will find out together just how well the new processor performs in the Realme smartphone.

Nubia RedMagic 5S review: a diamond in the rough
Nubia, a subsidiary of ZTE, returns to the gaming smartphone scene with the RedMagic 5S. Equipped with a Snapdragon 865 chipset, a 144 Hz AMOLED display, 12 GB of RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a 64-megapixel triple camera module, haptic-feedback triggers, and a monstrous 4,500 mAh battery, this is a powerful beast that retails for less than €600.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 review: lacking any real punch
I’ve been talking a lot about the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. A 60 Hz display, a plastic back, the Exynos 990 processor: all for £849. After having criticized it rather harshly when it was first released, I’ll let you find out in this review whether I had set my expectations for this phablet way too high than I was supposed to after spending several weeks with it.

OPPO Watch review: Surprisingly good for a first-time attempt!
OPPO seems to be well on its path to transition from a pure smartphone manufacturer to makers of wearables and ‘smart devices’. The well-known smartphone giant has released several non-smartphone products this year – some of which we at NextPit had the opportunity to test. Among the most significant wearable products they launched in 2020 include the new Enco lineup of earbuds and, of course, the new OPPO Watch – which also happens to be OPPO’s first-ever attempt at a full-fledged smartwatch.

Honor 9A review: long battery life but no Google support
When a new device for review finds its way onto my desk, it is often followed by a sense of disillusion. It does feel like we have done this dance over and over again – a cheap smartphone without any groundbreaking features? By applying the usual review criteria, such smartphones will normally end up with a poor first impression. However, I must say that not everyone is a spoiled 27-year-old tech journalist who thumbs his nose at every single flaw. And if you give the Honor 9A a chance, it is a somewhat fascinating device for a smartphone in its price range. Can a cheap smartphone that does not come equipped with Google Mobile Services actually convince me into purchasing one for long-term use?

Jabra Elite 45h review: long battery life can be affordable
Jabra, the price-to-performance champion in the true wireless headphones and earbuds market, has begun refreshing its entry-level range with the Jabra Elite 45h. These tiny on-ear wireless headphones retail for an attractive price point of £89.99, and might come with their fair share of flaws or compromises, but there is one saving grace – an amazing battery life that runs up to 50 hours before requiring a recharge!

Moto G 5G Plus review: this is how you do 5G
Super-fast speed and extremely short latency – surfing on a mobile device in Europe should be as reliable as it is from the home. On paper, the 5G global wireless standard is supposed to be 100 times faster compared to the existing 4G network. As you can never quite get enough speed when it comes to the Internet, especially in the age of YouTube, podcast streaming as well as video conferencing via virtual calls, it is inevitable that we move along with the times. With starting price of £299 attached to the new Moto G 5G Plus from Motorola in the UK, you will be able to embark on your 5G journey without having to break the bank. As this smartphone has certainly made a mark for itself in this review, holding one in your hands (with a proper 5G connection) is a potent combination that makes you want to remain online at all times.
