The Roborock Qrevo S offers far more than you would expect from a robotic vacuum cleaner with mopping function for $800. It impressed when vacuuming and left a good impression when mopping. Best of all, this appliance is comparatively quiet when it goes about with its tasks.
The fact that this model even cleans in the direction of the floor is anything but par for the course in this price range. With its built-in “ScratchSafe” wheels, the Qrevo S also boasts a chassis that won’t scratch floors. There is also the all-in-one docking station, which cleans and dries the mopping equipment and also empties itself.
The Roborock Qrevo S is a real value-for-money proposition for households that have few carpets. The robotic vacuum cleaner is available on Amazon and in the Roborock store and costs $799 based on its recommended retail price, although it currently has a $200 discount until further notice.
Design and build quality
With the Qrevo S, Roborock offers a super-flat robot vacuum with a LiDAR tower for navigation. The docking station has not changed compared to previous Qrevo models. Instead, the robotic vacuum cleaner has a supposedly inconspicuous advantage: wheels that do not scratch the floor.

The Qrevo S is another “budget” model in the Roborock Qrevo series. Roborock offers the new vacuum and mopping robot in white and black colors. Roborock provided us with a black review unit. Measuring 9.65 cm tall in total, the Qrevo S is one of the flattest robotic vacuum cleaners you will come across in the market. By comparison, the Ecovacs Deebot X5 Omni, which does not have a LiDAR tower for navigation, is only slightly flatter at 9.5 cm.
The dust container and buttons are located under the hinged hood. In contrast to the Roborock S8 series, models in the Qrevo series have two rotating mop pads. The lack of certain aspects does not make the Qrevo S any less special: this robotic vacuum cleaner has so-called “ScratchSafe” wheels that ensure your floors are not scratched as it minds its business. Roborock has remained true to the previous Qrevo design for the station—a ribbed surface with a dust container behind a cover in front.
There is also a fresh water tank and a container to collect dirty water, both of which are housed in the 34 × 48.7 × 52.1 cm all-in-one docking station. Once the docking station is connected to the power supply, it’s time to set it up in the Roborock app. Here’s one thing you should know: You will need a Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection for the app. To speed up the setup process, we recommend scanning the QR code located under the hood of the Qrevo S.
You then send the robotic vacuum cleaner to begin mapping. Mapping a 66 m2 apartment took us 13 minutes. We didn’t notice anything negative during the mapping process as the Roborock robotic vacuum cleaner recognized obstacles right away and even displayed them with the relevant symbols on the scanned map.
App and functions
The Roborock app is and remains one of the clearest and most detailed apps for robotic vacuum cleaners. As the Qrevo S is not a flagship model, Roborock also saves on the range of functions for this model. Nevertheless, there is a wide range of setting options that the competition in this price range does not offer.

After mapping, you can refine the scanned floor plan. In the review, the Qrevo S did not separate a room from the entrance hallway but lumped them as one. Nevertheless, the mapping result is more than adequate compared to more expensive models. The number of setting options for the map is impressive. You can set the floor laying direction, add furniture and, as usual, set up no-go zones. What’s more, the robotic vacuum cleaner automatically recognizes carpets and includes them in the maps.
It is also exciting users can add the floor direction, which is a bonus for a robotic vacuum cleaner in this price range. As a reminder, the Roborock Qrevo S is an $800 home appliance.
Previously, this function was offered only in flagship models such as the Dreame X40 Ultra (review) or Roborock’s S8 MaxV Ultra. Users who want to store the maps of several floors will get their money’s worth with the Qrevo S. This Roborock model can store up to four floors in its memory.
In the main menu, the Roborock app provides quick access to all suction levels, water flow rates, and navigation. There are five suction levels, 30 water flow rates, and two navigation types to determine how closely the robotic vacuum cleaner should follow the paths. However, if you were to select the “Vacuum and mop” function, only four suction levels are available. The Qrevo S saves the fifth suction level for carpets.
However, it is a pity that the “mop after vacuuming” function is not available. This is not surprising, as the same was noticed in the Roborock Q Revo MaxV’s review. This means you can begin the cleaning processes separately or create a routine. The routine has a particular advantage for iOS users: You can power the robotic vacuum cleaner on with the corresponding option via an Apple Watch or from the iPhone widget.
The app also lets you access the functions of the docking station. This is where you kickstart the washing and drying of the mops. Here’s a practical tip: the app tells you how long the drying process takes. In the other settings, you can make detailed adjustments to the docking station functions. It is here you determine how thoroughly the mopping equipment should be rinsed and how long it should be dried.
Suction and mopping performance
Small does not mean weak. On the contrary: with the Qrevo S, Roborock offers a reliable robotic vacuum cleaner with mopping function that impressed in almost all aspects. The suction and mopping performance were fine considering the high asking price of $799. Apart from detecting cables, the Qrevo S navigated its way impressively through our test course.

With a suction power of 7,000 Pa, the Qrevo S has the same suction power as the $200 more expensive Roborock Q Revo MaxV, with both models featuring the same shortcoming. The Qrevo S delivers maximum suction power only if you allow the robotic vacuum cleaner to go around hoovering dirt. In this situation, the fifth suction level is available to you. If you want the Qrevo S to vacuum and mop, only four suction levels are available, as mentioned earlier.
The fifth level does not disappear since the Roborock appliance saves it for carpets. This means that as soon as the Qrevo S moves onto carpets, it briefly becomes louder as suction power is increased to the maximum.

The suction result at the maximum level is impressive. We would like to particularly emphasize the suction power of the Qrevo S on smooth surfaces such as parquet and tiles. Basically, the robotic vacuum cleaner could be improved when it comes to carpets. What is exciting, however, is that you can determine specific settings for each individual. For example, you can set the Qrevo S to avoid the deep-pile carpet in the living room but vacuum the rug in the hallway. To achieve the best possible suction result, we recommend these tips and tricks on how to improve the suction power of the robotic vacuum cleaner with mopping function.
What’s more, pet fur did not pose any issue for the Qrevo S. You never have to deal with tangled hair in the main brush, either. Roborock uses a solid rubber brush here. The slats of the rubber brush transport both hair and fur to both ends of the brush during the suction process. If the best robot vacuum for pet fur, the Narwal Freo X Ultra (review), is too expensive for you, the Qrevo S is a cheaper alternative.
In terms of mopping results, the robotic vacuum cleaner does not need to shy away from more expensive competitors. This appliance scrubs the floor sparkling clean with the two rotating mops. Roborock offers a total of 30 water flow rates for the Qrevo S. The principle works similarly to the Dreame X40 Ultra, which has 32 levels in its repertoire.
Practically speaking, the highest water flow rate is intended only for serious stains. In the review, the robotic vacuum cleaner wiped away slightly dried stains at level 15 without any problems. Carpets are also safe from the appliance as the mop pads are raised by 10 mm before the appliance moves onto such surfaces.
During the entire review duration, cables were the biggest obstacle for the robotic vacuum cleaner. The Qrevo S recognized obstacles and new objects in the way quickly and easily. The fact that this appliance is also able to display furniture on the map, even if using the same symbol, is the cherry on the cake.
The Roborock Qrevo S cleans and cleans and cleans in the test without tiring itself out quickly. When this smart appliance vacuums and mops, a full 83 percent battery life is still available. If you want to use the full suction power, the Qrevo S loses 24 percent after 30 minutes. What Roborock has achieved with the Qrevo S is remarkable. Of course, we are not talking about the best robot vacuum with mopping function, but how the price-to-performance ratio of the new Roborock robot vacuum is first-class. The Qrevo S vacuums solidly, especially on parquet and tiles, and leaves very little to be desired in terms of mopping results.
As a result, the Roborock Qrevo S is primarily suitable for households with no or few carpets. The size of your home is irrelevant, as its battery life is another strength of the small, super-flat robotic vacuum cleaner. The robotic vacuum cleaner is also able to store several maps if you live in a multi-story house.
The all-in-one docking station also makes the robotic vacuum cleaner low-maintenance. It does not wash using hot water. If this feature is important to you, the Roborock Q Revo MaxV (review) is a more suitable option. Mops are dried using hot air and a self-emptying function is also available.
In summary, you can’t go wrong with the Roborock Qrevo S. This robotic vacuum cleaner is additional proof that it doesn’t always have to be an appliance that breaks the $1,000 ceiling.
