Fitbit offers an integrated GPS module, mobile payment capability, and long battery life in the Fitbit Charge 4. These are features that are certainly not found in every fitness tracker and were missing in the previous model. Whether these make the Charge 4 the ultimate fitness tracker or not, and what do I mean by expensive in the headline, will be delved in deeper detail in this review.
Back in October 2020, Apple unveiled its latest line of smartphones in the shape of the iPhone 12 series. Among them, a rather diminutive (by 2020 standards) iPhone 12 Mini caught my eye. This pint-sized edition packs all the processing power of its bigger brothers, including the Pro variants, and slips into pockets like something out of 2012. Is this the start of a comeback for compact smartphones? I've been using it to find out.
Check and checkmate? No! The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has, more than ever compared to its predecessors such as the Huawei P40, the heavy burden of ensuring the tech press and its cohorts continue the narrative that the Chinese tech giant's smartphones are not fit for use outside of China without Google. After reviewing it for close to a month for NextPit, I can unequivocally state that this is not the case at all. Far from it.
Mid-summer 2020, here is a vintage that will mark the smartphone market. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is an excellent value for money flagship with a Snapdragon 865, a 144 Hz screen, 5,000 mAh battery for less than £550. In my full review for NextPit, I tell you why the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is the best value high-end smartphone on the market this year.
The new iPhone lineup this year consists of four new models, where all of them fall under the 12 series. The magic number twelve is a "mathematical natural phenomenon", a sublime yet abundant number. The twelve is also a kissing number in three dimensions. Frederic Chopin composed twelve Etudes; Claude Debussy composed twelve Préludes. Whether the new iPhone 12 Pro carries its numerical heritage as gracefully as people and events in the earth's history have shown will be determined in this extensive review.
The Realme 7 arrived onto the market barely a year after the Realme 6 was released. It is pleasing to note that the manufacturer continued to stick to the 90 Hertz display as found in its predecessor and, apart from that, the smartphone does offer a closer degree of performance to the new Pro version. Which particular market segment is the Realme 7 targeting, and who ought to pick this handset up? Find out more in this review.
Affordable audio brand Soundcore is back with a new pair of over-ear ANC headphones that won't break the bank. The Life series has been praised on NextPit in the past, but how close can the new Life Q30 cans get to the top-end of the market for less than a third of the price of the flagship headphones from Sony and Bose? A lot closer than you'd think...
On Friday, two new iPhone models arrived at my home: the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro. In this article, I would like to share my first impressions of Cupertino's latest handsets with you. How does Apple's new flagship smartphones perform in everyday life?
E-bikes are currently booming. From The Netherlands, the slick city cruiser from VanMoof is selling hot like hotcakes. Coming out of Belgium, the more sporty Cowboy Bike offers an electric mobility solution for those in more of a hurry. I’ve been riding the third generation of Cowboy Bike on the streets of Berlin to see what it’s all about. Here’s my full review.
Google does seem to have issues in keeping in its online store this year: the well-known home speakers are suddenly known as "Nest" while underneath the hood of the recently released smartphones, the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, both of them carry more or less the same innards. This begs the question: Why should customers pick the old generation handset when purchasing a new smartphone? In my review, I gave the Pixel 4a 5G the chance to prove itself in everyday life for an entire week. Is the new old Pixel smartphone convincing enough to make the cut?
