Black Friday might be the best time to pick up a new smartwatch, and for Samsung users, the Galaxy Watch 8 is on sale. It has dropped to a new record low of $279, which is $70 less than the usual $350. This is the biggest reduction yet and easily surpasses previous cuts.

The deal applies to the 40 mm GPS model, available in Graphite or Silver. A bigger saving is offered on the 44 mm GPS variant, now priced at $304, or $75 lower than the regular $380.

Why Buy the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic (review) in July, and the standard model is more than a modest refresh to the Galaxy Watch 7 thanks to its new design. The smartwatch features a squarish chassis built from reinforced aluminum, with a round display at the center. The build is thinner, making it more comfortable to wear during workouts and extended use.

The watch retains rugged qualities, including MIL-STD-810H certification and waterproofing, supporting water activities such as swimming and snorkeling. It also comes with a larger AMOLED display measuring 1.34 inches, which is notably brighter with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

The Galaxy Watch 8 debuted with an updated set of BioActive sensors that deliver more accurate readings, from heart rate to blood oxygen saturation. It also introduces new AI-enabled tools such as an antioxidant index to gauge health based on carotenoid levels, vascular load measurements, and advanced running metrics with a built-in coach.

With a bigger battery capacity, the watch offers slightly longer use between charges. It also supports wireless charging at 10 watts.
