The Studio Pro are a true hardware upgrade rather than a simple refresh. Apple has provided significant enhancements to both the design and internals, bringing the core features much closer to the pricier AirPods Max.
On the exterior, the Studio Pro retains the iconic Beats over ear silhouette but incorporates new, more comfortable ultra-plush ear cushions. These headphones also feature a convenient folding design and are significantly lighter than the AirPods Max (review), making them ideal for long listening sessions or travel.
Internally, the Studio Pro has been completely overhauled with new custom drivers and improved acoustics. This results in much cleaner audio output, particularly in the higher frequencies. While they still offer that familiar, bass forward Beats sound profile, the audio is now richer, more balanced, and features far less distortion than previous models.
Audiophiles can enjoy high fidelity lossless listening via a USB-C wired connection, while Class 1 Bluetooth ensures a stable wireless experience. Like Apple’s other high end audio products, the Studio Pro support personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. They are fully compatible with both iOS and Android, though a few ecosystem specific features may vary between platforms.
