500: maintenance mode

Greetings from the Engine Room!

Sorry, but there's really nothing to see here right now. Our server is in maintenance mode – and our little bot is trying to sort the error messages with its last bit of energy.

Whether it was a data leak, a power outage in the cluster, or just a grumpy bit – we don't know yet. But what we do know is:

The data drama escalated into a server meltdown. But don't worry: We're on it.

What now?

  • Everything is surely running smoothly over at our colleagues from inside digital – why not stop by!
  • Or you could pass the time by visiting our social media channels – for example Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. At least there are no server problems there – promised.

Thanks for your patience. Our bot is already rebooting at full speed. 🔧

This year’s edition of MWC is definitely full of surprises and crazy announcements. The latest one comes from Energizer (you know, the battery brand with the rabbit mascot) and its Power Max P18K Pop smartphone. A giant 18,000 mAh battery! Curious as we are, we just had to get our hands on this unusual smartphone.

How to scan QR codes with an Android phone
QR codes are everywhere: these little pixelated squares appear on billboards and poster ads, in magazines and on product packaging. Unlocking their contents can share contact info or Wi-Fi passwords, or take you to the website for a film you’ve just seen the poster for. So how do you use them? Here’s how to scan QR codes with an Android phone.

We tried the Mate X, Huawei’s folding smartphone
It didn’t take long for Huawei to respond to Samsung with its own folding smartphone. A few days after the presentation of the Galaxy Fold at the Unpacked event for the launch of the Galaxy S10, the Chinese manufacturer also unveiled its own folding smartphone, the Mate X. We were very lucky to be able to get our hands on the device for a few minutes and here are our first (very good) impressions.

LG V50 ThinQ hands-on: missing something, and not a just second screen
No, LG did not show up at the Mobile World Congress with a folding smartphone. It is still too early for such a device. However, the South Korean manufacturer has announced the V50 ThinQ, a 5G smartphone that looks to the future and tries in some way to challenge the foldable stars of this year’s MWC.

Take a look at the AGM X3: the outdoor smartphone with a Snapdragon 845
The market for rugged smartphones is booming. To meet the growing demands of users, several smartphone manufacturers like Caterpillar, Land Rover and Crosscall are offering devices that are specialized for this niche market. AGM, a Chinese manufacturer, is another brand targeting this field by offering a “robust” smartphone. What makes it so special? It’s one of the few on the market to offer high-end specs and a Snapdragon 845 processor. We got the chance to try it and here are our first impressions. Don’t underestimate the new Nokia: it means business IP68 certification? IP67? What does it all mean?
