A friend of mine uses MM Guardian Parental Control.

Their App description states that the app:

Enables you to:
★ Monitor text, call and web activities.
★ Set Time Limits to prevent phone use during sleep times or during other periods you define.
★ Block calls based on your policy, and be warned about texts with prohibited contacts.
★ Control which applications can be used, for how long and when.
★ Set restrictions on what web sites may be viewed.
★ Lock your child’s phone on demand.
★ Locate your child’s phone on demand.
★ Set predefined times to be informed of the location of your child's phone.
★ Prevent your child texting and driving.
★ View comprehensive phone usage reports.

Also, which device are you using? If it's a HTC device isn't there a parental control app cooked into HTC Sense called Kid Mode, haven't used it myself so am unsure on its limitations etc.

I would like to recommend TiSPY (tispy.net) parental monitoring software/app which helps you to monitor your listed activities. Parents just needs to install the TiSPY in their kids smartphone and can track & monitor all kids activities from Dashboard panel.

Allows you to:

  • Track & monitor all social media chats (WhatsApp, Facebook, Gtalk, Skype, Viber, Line etc.)
  • Monitor Calls - Get details of calls including time, contact no, name, pic etc.
  • Location Tracking - Track kids smartphone location directly from dashboard
  • Track SMS & MMS - Parents can read any message that was received by or sent from the phone.
  • Track Multimedia files - Check each and every image & video captured in smart phone
  • Access Address book - Check all the contacts listed in kids smart phone
  • Browsing History - Check kid's browsing history and block websites
  • Set location Alerts - Get alert when your kid enters in danger zone

Hope this information will help.

My colleagues at Space-O Technologies, who are mobile app developers, recently developed Gallery Guardian, a parent guardian app. In fact, this app has been featured on BBC, The Telegraph, and Daily Mail.

I tried to share the links, but as of a new user here, I'm unable to share the links.

Anyway, Google "Gallery Guardian"

You will find it out on the top of the result.

Lemme share you the screenshot of the app so you can recognize it.

image

And this is how it works:

  1. Install it on both on a parent and child's device
  2. Pair the two together
  3. After an initial sync and scan procedure, if the app detects a suspicious image it alerts the parent.
  4. No images are shown or sent to the parent.
  5. The parent then takes the appropriate action.

Another option to look at is "Advanced Parental Tools". Its primary focus is on application access control. The solution provides extensive set of options to define various policies based on time, usage, network and even physical activity conditions. All configuration can be done remote or locally.
In addition there dedicated messaging solution that locked to parent-child only. No one else can join it.
All functionality is free, not trial.
For best results combine it with SPIN Safe Browser or similar for safe internet browsing

I think you can try mSpy app. I used it for a while. Seems like it works fine. You can read more about this app here: kidslox.com/blog/mspy-review/. When I've been testing the app it showed all information very accurately.

Hi Joseph,

I am suggesting the best and free child monitoring app to easily monitor, track and control for all kid's activities such as calls, chats, messages, emails, internet activities and many more. So I would like to recommend Plano App. The Plano app was created with support from the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and the Singapore National Eye Center (SNEC)
I hope this app will help you a lot

Yeah, I also agree with you here. There are lots of apps available for chatting, emails, video calling and many more. Anyways, you should install this app called Spyine. This Spyine app will help you how to spy on a cell phone location without having it try Spyine. Just try and enjoy!

I think on that day when you plan to buy your kids a phone on that same day you have to download a parental control iphone. When we bought our son a new Iphone we decided to use this control because of all those diccusting things that you can find online. Imagine if I see it every day, what can my son find, he is much better understands all these new devices. Me and his father sat and had a talk with our little boy about what he should not do with his phone. I think he understood us but still I will check every day.

Hi Joseph, I have looked for a way to monitor my child’s social media before. After doing research, I finally chose one parental monitoring app named [KidsGuard Pro for Android][1], which could monitor 30+files, like Snapchat, Whatsapp, Ins, calls, messages, and it’s easy to use and I can sync the contents from my child’s phone in real-time. Maybe you can have a try.
