Hello: Recent Verizon update. About phone shows Firmware 4.4.2 so I assume it's KitKat.
I can download n install from GooglePlayStore.... But from GetJar or other I can download (example Nature sounds) but when I click on the download to install it, I get a message that I don't have an application that can open this type file, and to find such an application and install it.
I have already gone to security and allowed installation of 3rd party apps/ apps from unknown sources. I also tried stopping some apps, disabling some apps (though when selecting disable it oftens wants to uninstall instead).
I also downloaded and installed the File manager from XDA developers.
What application do I need to install the apk files/apps? Or does this Verizon tablet just not allow me to do that. Please send instructions. (I'm fairly computer savvy though don't know how to "root" a tablet if that's what's needed, and I've never had to load anything to my laptop first and then tether/transfer to a phone or tablet)
