virus protection

I have the new S II X. Its my first android phone.love it. Do u really need virus protection and which one?

Well, it's debatable. Some of the companies that provide virus protection for Android charge too much while others are ineffective. A good rule of thumb is to carefully read user reviews before you download an app, or even Google the company that makes the app to make sure it's a reputable source. Malware is always found in malicious apps, it doesn't come baked into your phone, so tread carefully.

That said, there are a few apps that can protect you on the off-chance that you download a malicious app. Lookout and WaveSecure are probably the best known. Lookout, I believe, is free initially,but WaveSecure charges you after an introductory period.
