Been wanting this capability since its advertisement on one of the newer phones and thought I would have to wait until I got a newer phone. A Co worker bought the HTC incredible without it, then got it when 2.2 was downloaded. it it not possible with my Motorola Droid?

Yes, it is possible. There is an app on the market called PdaNet which should do it for you. Let me know if that doesn't work.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to root your device to get the functionality.

PDAnet is not a "WiFi" solution.. but it is a wired "using you usb cable" solution that basicly has the same end result.. it gets your computer online (tethered) with your phone's data plan.

If you want a "WiFi" solution on the Motorola Droid you will need to "Root" our handset, then You will be able to install "Wireless Tether" free on the Android Market.
