Easy to follow instructions for rooting motorola droid?

A freind of mine has the droid and after I rooted my phone with great results now he would like to root his phone. I was able to find easy instructions for my phone but not for his yet. please help if you can. thank you.

I'm assuming he has the moto droid 1. google search for "soup or root" (i know that sounds funny) it should give you a result in the droid forum web site, they have a very easy and almost fool proof way to root the original moto droid.

I was looking in another thread and saw that you said you managed to get his phone rooted, so I'll assume this topic is dead now, unless you say otherwise.
